The middle thing looks like some kind of maidenhair fern, on the basis of that shot alone, but is it? Or is it a tree? I can't figure out the scale.
The first one looks delightfully dangerous. Or it is something related to a bluebell or bleeding heart. Only those should be bloomed and done in Portland by now.
Today I was at the nursery scoping out mothers day plants. My new favorite plant of the year: the geum. It looks sort of like an orange ranunculus or a california poppy, color and flower-texture-wise, but it's about two feet tall, and a perennial. I don't know how to pronouce "geum."
The middle thing is a bush. Two feet high, maybe three and the leaves are a few inches. The first is less fleshy than bluebells and the like. It left straw-like dead vines all over the place from last year...
Ants love peonies...beyond that I don't know the other two!
ReplyDeleteI agree that the last thing is a peony, probably.

Bea does look bold in the photo.
